Services Typically Covered by Insurance

Under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act and Minnesota state law, health plans must cover substance use disorder treatment at parity with medical and surgical benefits. At Lionheart, insured members commonly access:

  Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) — 9–12 hours per week of structured group and individual sessions.

  Standard Outpatient Counseling — Individual and group therapy for substance use and co-occurring conditions.

  Adolescent Treatment — Specialized programming for teens with flexible scheduling.
• ✓
  Telehealth Sessions — Virtual counseling covered at the same rate as in-person under MN parity law.
• ✓
  Medication Management — Coordination of medication-assisted treatment when appropriate.
